Burnley 2-2 MANCHESTER UNITED
Manchester United win 6-5 on pens
It was another game where we made very, very hard work of it yet throughout the game we simply dominated.
We faced a team who missed their number 1 and to be honest we started very cautiously and it hindered us, we expected a cagey approach from Burnley in the circumstances and yet they bolted the doors shut, before they took the lead with our old boy Nkunku haunting us. We kept going and even had the advantage of a man when Cucurella was dismissed in the first half.
Second half the game got crazier still with Pogba getting injured for Burnley, and once we threw Elanga on the game changed for us and we took the lead with a couple of goals 11 minutes apart.
A man up, goal up, we're starting to bolt the doors ourselves, but in injury time Morata popped up and nicked an equalizer to send us to extra time.
30 minutes extra time, not a lot can happen? Nope, first Adeyemi came off injured meaning we played extra time (and subsequently penalties) without our captain and main forward, then Valverde was sent off for a second yellow meaning, both teams finished with 10 men and an injury each! Thankfully we won the shoot out or I'd have been irate that we didn't kill this one off and make use of the advantages when they happened (including the one from kick off). Sloppy finishing nearly cost us and Burnley simply picked the right gaps at times and nearly left us sucker punched.
We play City in another final, but lets be honest, we've not don't well against them recently so it's a huge, huge game.
