    EFL 2 promotion battle

Benfica fall off the top spot with an away draw to Betis, only 2 wins in the last 6 are signs of Gaz lower the age of the squad but also killing their title challenge, do they have further to fall?

Shakhtar take the top spot after a stunning run, winning 5 out of the last 6, that must put them as favourites for the league coming into the last 7 games.

There is a decent gap then down to the playoff contenders, with only 7 points separating 3rd place to 9th place.

Porto and Wolfsburg both win to sit in 3rd and 4th, with Feyenoord falling out and being replaced by Lazio, who beat Dortmund, these two were early favourites for the league and have both had disappointing seasons

Next week sees Benfica (2nd) host Atalanta (5th) in the pick of the bunch.

Will the gap at the top widen, or the league become more congested as we enter the closing straight.

      SHAKHTAR DONETSK 2-0 Stadde Rennes

Great win, got it right with the set ups after taking the early goal. We didn't muck about and with us missing a key defender it was pleasing to keep the clean sheet. The win puts us back top for now, but nothing is resolved yet with 21 points still to play, but we're happy with how things are going. The gap to 3rd is now 6 points also, we keep doing our thing, probing the results and we'll see what happens.

But the team is performing still way above expectations for sure and Obikwu has had a stellar campaign thus far. Prove I was right to turn down £60m preseason for him!
