Battered them and they're fortunate to keep such a respectable scoreline. I don't think we've managed a one sided game like that in my tenure which is very nice to see and with our front two on target today makes it a bit sweeter to see the two grabbing the goals. Even Butez had a perfect game, 6 saves from 6 shots, and others having good performances too gives a good ab haul on the day.

With some other results going our way we've got a healthy gap between 2nd and then to 3rd, and I believe we're just 1 point away from cementing a top 6 place. We're almost there and playing well, but with tough games coming up we have to maintain our performances. But today is a very pleasing day.

EFL 2 promotion battle

The Shakhtar juggernaut rolls on, making the most of Benfica stumbling and taking the lead at the top to 5 points. Porto also dropped points making it look very likely Shakhtar will be promoted this season.

Lazio beat Benfica to keep it interesting for that 2nd place spot, whilst Atalanta now winless in 5 games have crumbled at the worst possible moment.

Wolfsburg win to keep themselves in the race for 2nd place, whilst Union Berlin enter the playoffs with their third win on the bounce.

None of the top 6 play each other this week, therefore it looks to be a case of who is going to stumble. Plenty of teams just outside the top 6 waiting for the opportunity to jump up.
