A fairly comprehensive straight forward victory for Inter who gain the psychological advantage ahead of the champions league final. Atletico have not been able to field a full strength team for some team and this was no different and perhaps would have wished to go into the match with a 5-man defence. Matter were not helped when Inters read changed his tactics for the first time in a long time. An 18-9 shot count with the ability to bring on squaddies was a frightening outcome.

Manager Simon Marsh admitted "We were second best today and thats dented our hopes of finishing any higher than 7th, which is 3 places below our minimum expectations. In fact we have Lisbon next and 9th place is still a possibility should we lost that one".
