After being quiet in the transfer market since the pre season bonanza, Liverpool have finally conducted some business with the signing of full back Reece James from Arsenal in a deal worth around £80m. The 26 year old immediately becomes the best defender at the club and should prove to be a key player for the Reds over the coming seasons.
On the flip side and with the club having recently crashed out of both of the Champions League and the FA Cup the decision was made to cash in on talented 31 year old attacking midfielder Jack Grealish. Having been made available for transfer Juventus came knocking and a deal was quickly agreed which has seen the Englishman move to the Old Lady of Italian football in a deal which has netted the Merseyside club £65m.
To cover the void in the attacking midfield area caused by the departure of Grealish, Liverpool have signed Sarabia from Benfica although it is rumoured that the Spaniard's stay at the club will very much be short term. With the transfer window due to slam shut soon it will be worth monitoring whether the player is still at Anfield beyond this.
